Partnership, Innovation and Safety rewarded at the Kings of the Supply Chain contest

The Kings of the Supply Chain Forum, an annual industry event, has been organized for 17 years by Supply Chain Magazine – the French media for decision makers in the supply chain, transport and logistics.

This great national competition allows any company to enter a recent project that it considers efficient and/or innovative in terms of Supply Chain; this competition highlights the partnership aspect of the projects and must be submitted jointly – that is to say the manufacturer with the user company.

The 2023 edition accepted a total of 23 projects that were studied by a jury of 11 recognized Supply Chain professionals. There are three award categories: Favourite, Innovation Award and Grand Prize.

GMR Safety submitted its first entry in collaboration with its long-standing client-partner C-Logistics, the logistics subsidiary of the e-commerce specialist Cdiscount. The innovation was in the form of a connected kit for jack stands that secures uncoupled trailers at loading docks.

An edition full of surprises

The 17th edition of the contest ended on January 12 at the prestigious Théâtre de la Maison de la Mutualité in Paris, where 800 guests participated in a friendly and festive awards ceremony, marked by an aerial show by the Chaix brothers.

As the awards ceremony was about to end, the C-Logistics – GMR Safety team was called on stage to be presented with the special “Thumbs Up” award! “We wanted to put the spotlight on safety in the warehouse and on the loading docks, even if the project -on a purely SCM level- was not retained in the final phase”, explained Grégory Debuchy, Supply Chain Director of Ferrero France, emphasizing “the major safety issue for the whole profession”.
